Some things I enjoy are; Kayaking, Mountain-biking, Dual-sport motorcycle riding, hiking, reading, games (not computer games), traveling, friends, expanding my mind/world view - although one thing I found is that experience sometimes shortens patience. And not to forget I don't know why I find Medieval history so interesting but I do. Something about the simplicity of pre-gun powder I guess... :)
My professional goals include to grow my management team to the point they and the company I founded do not need me anymore so that I can fire myself. From there I'd move onto other ventures but stay involved at a board level.
Some personal goals include hiking the 200-mile John Muir trail in the Sierras (but it could be some other adventure). Kayak and mountain bike at least 10 times including Apostle islands (sea caves) Done. Learn Mandarin in 2009 to a level where I can manage on my own in China (half done). Telecommute from a warmer place... :) Creating a personal music library (half done). hmm... who would have thought writing this profile would get my butt into gear on some of these things ;)
I am a self-made technology entrepreneur from Northern Europe running a company with offices here in the Twin Cities and Europe. I became a U.S. citizen in 2007 but retained my EU citizenship. I'm working on my fifth language - and it's harder than I hoped... I recently completed a personality assessment focused on sales and it described me as a 100% "Driver" if you're into that lingo. I sent it onto my managers and they said it was dead spot on... ha ha... I am an active figure in the Twin Cities business community and once you have my name you'll have an easy time googling me. I really do like to take it easy and sleep in as well so I don't want to create the impression I am "go go go" the whole time. I do get very excited about different projects I embark on, some of them a bit more bone-headed than others, but they energize me with purpose. I've never used drugs and I use alcohol sparingly. I exercise regularly and I try to take as many wilderness trips as I can.
I have no kids. With the right woman, I think I'd want kids but it's not where I start.
Music taste: Varied. Know it when I hear it. One of my goals this year is to organize my music library. But a few nice ones in my opinion are The Pogues, The Clash, Moby, etc.
